Nathaniel Crump, MD
Assistant Professor of Obstetrics/Gynecology
Nathaniel Lloyd Crump, MD, is a leader in the minimally invasive surgical treatment of uterine fibroids and heavy vaginal bleeding. Dr. Crump specializes in techniques performed as alternatives to hysterectomy. These procedures, including hysteroscopic resection, myomectomy and endometrial ablation, enable effective treatment without removal of the uterus. Dr. Crump is one of few physicians in the United States who perform these lower-risk procedures in the office and with patients under conscious sedation. He is also an expert in operative hysteroscopy, a technique requiring the use of specialized instruments that provide a view inside the uterus for diagnostic and treatment procedures.
When hysterectomy is the most appropriate option, Dr. Crump uses minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy and cervix-sparing hysterectomy. In partnership with colleagues in radiology, he is conducting research on highly focused ultrasound ablation for the treatment of uterine fibroids. Dr. Crump also performs a non-surgical, hormone-free, office-based permanent birth control procedure.
