J. Martin Leland III, MD is a skilled orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine physician. He provides expert care for adults and children with injuries of the bones, joints and muscles.
Dr. Leland specializes in the care of sports-related injuries, with a particular focus on injuries of the shoulder and knee. His clinical practice includes a number of complex orthopaedic sports medicine surgeries, such as multi-ligament knee reconstructions, proximal hamstring repairs, total shoulder replacements and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and hip. Currently, he serves as a team physician for Concordia College and numerous local high schools and has worked with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Dr. Leland is an active researcher and is currently working on projects that study the benefits of platelet-rich plasma, possible treatment options for patellar tendonitis, and a unique approach to rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction surgery. He frequently lectures on social media for surgeons and a variety of sports medicine topics to orthopaedic residents and fellows, medical students, physical therapists, athletic trainers and other Orthopaedic surgeons around the United States.
