The University of Chicago welcomes you to the 4th annual continuing education course entitled, "The Changing Face of Oral Cancer". This activity is designed to discuss the clinical spectrum of oral pre-malignancy and oral cancer, understand the role of HPV and oropharyngeal cancer, gain insight into emerging trends and novel techniques, and discuss dental management of patients receiving radiation and chemotherapy. This half day conference has been designed for oral surgeons, dentists, dental hygienists, as well as, physicians, and health care professionals interested in the treatment of oral cancer. CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION
This activity is designed to discuss the clinical spectrum of oral pre-malignancy and oral cancer, understand the role of HPV and oropharyngeal cancer, gain insight into emerging trends and novel techniques, and discuss dental management of patients receiving radiation and chemotherapy.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, the participants will be able to:
- Identify the clinical spectrum of oral pre-malignancy and oral cancer;
- Explain the role of human papilloma virus (HPV) in oropharyngeal cancer and describe the clinical spectrum or oropharyngeal cancer;
- Cite emerging trends, novel techniques, including immunotherapy, and future technologies to manage oral cancer;
- Discuss dental management of patients receiving radiation and chemotherapy.
